8 Most Anticipated Albums To Look Out For In 2018

As 2018 kicks in fully in the music industry part of what we would be looking out for are the various album projects that would be launched during the course of the year.
As always, there are some of our beloved artists we are lying patiently in wait for their albums. Here are some of those LPs to watch out for in 2018.

Davido – TBD

After having a hugely successful year with back to back hits, DMW honcho is very well prepared to bless music lovers and fans with his highly anticipated sophomore album. Davido had earlier hinted his second studio album will come in the first quarter of 2018. A second studio album from Davido is long overdue, perhaps the ‘Fia’ singer will exploit his hot form and drop a banging LP which would be of course backed by global music giant Sony Music.

Mayorkun – TBD

Just like his mentor and boss enjoyed a enormous success last year, Mayorkun was pretty much relevant during the past year. The singer stayed on top of his game with hit records which helped his brand become a household name. Now that Mayorkun has the unbroken attention of Nigerians it is safe for the ‘Mama’ crooner to maintain steam with his debut album. After announcing he has already recorded 80 percent of the songs for his debut album, Mayorkun should officially release the project before the second half of the year. This is one project to look out for in the new year.

Vector – Teslim

vector
Teslim! Teslim!! Teslim!!!  Olarewaju Ogunmefun aka Vector has been very equivocal about his fourth studio album TESLIM (The Energy Still Lives In Me) on social media. From the look of things the self dubbed ‘King Kong’ will be taking things a notch or two higher from where he dropped it on his last album ‘Lafiaji’. The Headies Awards ‘Lyricist of The Year’ winner hopefully wants to make an album that proves Hip-hop isn’t dead in Nigeria as the belief is these days. Vector is steady building the anticipation for the project and this only rouses our curiosity. ‘TESLIM’ should better be what we hope it would be because are on the lookout for it.

Kiss Daniel – Evolution

Kiss Daniel
May 2018 would make it exactly two years since Kiss Daniel dropped his highly acclaimed debut studio album ‘New Era’. Although the hitmaker has had an end of year squabble with his former record label G-Worldwide, we are sure Kiss Daniel will move on fine with his plans. All things being his sophomore album ‘Evolution’ should be released during the course of the year. So far hits like ‘Sofa’, ‘Yeba’ are singles taken off the yet to be released ‘Evolution’ album.

Tekno – TBD

It is easier to get Mo’ Hits crew to perform on the same stage than to get a debut album from Tekno. The ‘Pana’ crooner is a chronic procrastinator when it comes to the release of his debut album. As much as he has postponed the album project, he can’t make up his mind about what the album title should be. We definitely hope Tekno finds some guts during the year to drop his first studio album.

MI Abaga – TBD

So MI Abaga promised an album for last year but the elite rapper could not full fulfill that promise. The best we got from MI in the past year was the very critical record ‘YRSFUYL’ and a little fall out with Vector. It’s still a fresh year ahead, and by all means the ‘Bad Belle’ crooner should be able fix up his plans and drop his fourth  LP.

Adekunle Gold – About 30

Adekunle Gold - Money
There were lots of tip off former YBNL singer Adekunle Gold would be releasing his second studio project. And the proposed title is ‘About 30’, which signifies his age. From the look of things all the songs needed for the album has been recorded what is left is a few ‘logistics’. Adekunle Gold has grown from the guy who sang ‘Sade’. A lot of those changes should be evident on ‘About 30’.

Jesse Jagz – Nigerian Gangster

The unconventional emperor and lyricist is putting out another album in 2018 after ‘Odysseus’ in 2017. The new project is called ‘Nigerian Gangster’ as dubbed by Jesse Jagz. The month for the album release is within the first quarter, February. Wait for it!
